Dariel Cancel is the head of the EOIR Division at Fayad Law, P.C. He has extensive experience advocating for individuals in removal proceedings in immigration courts across the United States including Florida, Pennsylvania, California, Georgia, Texas, Illinois, Ohio, New York, Maryland, and Virginia. He has secured numerous successful outcomes for clients seeking asylum, withholding of removal, cancellation of removal, reopening of proceedings, custody redeterminations, and adjustment of status in court.
Dariel Cancel obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. He studied at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico School of Law where he interned for the Puerto Rico Court of Appeals and the private sector. He then attended the George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C.
Dariel Cancel started his legal career as a federal civil rights law attorney representing plaintiffs in employment discrimination, police misconduct, and other federal civil matters. He transitioned to Immigration Law in 2014. Before joining Fayad Law, PC, he worked as an Associate Attorney at different law firms in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
Dariel Cancel has devoted his legal career to represent nationals from all over the world in different immigration matters. He has won an array of cases in immigration court, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and USCIS Asylum Office. He has also assisted representing clients in immigration matters before the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh and Ninth Circuit. His practice focuses on complex immigration issues, removal defense and defensive applications.
Dariel Cancel is fluent in Spanish. He is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and is admitted to practice law in Puerto Rico.
